Ross : Police are using laser guns now to catch speeding cars.
경찰은 속도위반 차량을 잡기 위해 레이저 총을 사용하고 있어.
Tim : I know. I got a ticket last week, and my radar detector didn't alert me.
알아. 지난 주에 티켓을 발부받았는데,내 레이더 감지기가 울리지 않았거든.
Ross : The new laser detectors are expensive. 신제품 레이저 감지기는 가격이 비싸.
You're better off just driving within the speed limit. 그저 제한속도 내에서 운전하는 게 상책이야.

Ross : I got pulled over by the cops on my way to work. 출근하는 중에 경찰이 차를 세웠어.
Tim : Did you get a ticket for speeding? 속도 위반 딱지 뗐니?

Ross : Can I do a U-turn here? 여기서 유턴해도 될까?
Tim : No way. It's against the law. And if the cops see you. you'll get a ticket.
안돼. 불법이야. 경찰에게 들키면, 딱지 떼일거라구.

Kate : I'll never take my car downtown again. 다시는 차몰고 시내에 가지 않을거야.
Tim : Did you get another ticket, or couldn't you find a parking space?

Kate : Did you see that guy? He must be crazy! 저 사람 봤냐? 분명히 미쳤을거야!
Tim : Yes, the way he's cutting in and out of traffic, it's a wonder he doesn't cause an accident.
맞아, 끼어들어서 교통 흐름을 방해하는 것 좀 봐, 사고 안나는 게 기적이야.
Kate : I hope a policeman stops him. He deserves a ticket.
경찰이 저 사람 좀 잡아갔으면 좋겠어. 위반 딱지를 좀 받아봐야 해.

Policeman : Ma'am. You've run the stop sign. 부인, 정지 신호를 무시하고 달리셨습니다.
Kate : Really? I'm sorry. I didn't realize. Here take this and let's just forget about it.
그래요? 죄송합니다. 몰랐어요. 이거 받으시고 한 번만 봐주세요.
Policeman : Excuse me, don't try to buy me off. It's against the law.

Ross : I'm going to buy a 2004 model Volvo soon. 나 곧 2004년식 볼보 한 대 뽑을 거야.
Tim : A Volvo? Get real! You can't even afford a Tico.
볼보 같은 소리하네. 정신 차려! 넌 티코 살 돈도 없잖아.

Kate : I think Ross really cares for me. 로스가 날 정말 좋아하나봐.
Tim : Wake up and smell the coffee. He's after your money.

* get a grip on yourself = to start contolling your emotions when you have been very upset

Kate : Tim, you're going to have to get a grip. 팀, 너 정신 좀 차려야겠다.
Tim : I know, but I'm having a tough time dealing with all the stress at the moment.
알아, 하지만 지금 스트레스 때문에 애를 먹고 있어.
Kate : It's going to be tough going for the next few weeks, but after that it will calm down.
몇 주 동안은 힘들겠지만 그 후엔 좀 진정될거야.
Tim : I'll try and hang in. 견뎌볼게.

Ross : I think I'm in love with her. 그녀와 사람에 빠진 것 같아.
Tim : Hey, get a grip. It's not a love, just a momentary infatuation.
이봐, 정신 차려. 그건 사랑이 아니라 순간적으로 반한 거야.

Ross : I suddenly got a toothache, and I think I need to get to the dentist right away.

갑자기 치통이 생겨서. 당장 치과에 가봐야할 것 같아.

Tim : My dentist is just down the street. I can take you over there if you'd like.

내가 다니는 치과가 저기 아래에 있는데. 괜찮다면 거기까지 데려다 줄게.
