Tim : Can you make me a sandwich? 나 샌드위치 하나만 만들어 줄래?
Kate : No way. Make it yourself! 말도 안돼. 니가 직접 만들어 먹어!


Kate : Can I do a U-turn here? 여기서 유턴해도 될까?
Tim : No way. It's against the law. And if the cops see you, you'll get a ticket.

안돼. 그건 불법이야. 경찰에게 들키면 딱지 떼일거라구.


Mariah : Mom, can I go out with the guy next door? 엄마, 나 옆집 애랑 데이트해도 돼?
Mom : No way! It's out of the question. 안돼! 말도 안되는 소리 하고 있어.

Not a chance

* (spoken) used to emphasize that you are sure something could never happen

= no chance = fat chance

* far from it = (spoken) used to say that the opposite of what someone says is true


Ross : Hey, can you take care of my dog while I'm away.

이봐, 나 없는 동안 우리 개 좀 봐줄 수 있어?

Tim : Not a chance. You know I hate dogs.

어림 반푼어치도 없는 소리 하지마. 나 개 싫어하는 거 알잖아.


Tim : Maybe your sister would lend you the money? 혹시 너네 언니가 너에게 돈을 빌려줄까?

Kate  Huh, fat chance! 어림도 없는 소리.

Kate : Why don't we take this up with Tim? 팀이랑 상의해 보는 게 어때?
Ross : Well, I don't think he knows anything about it.

글쎄, 내 생각엔 그가 그 일에 대해 아는 게 전혀 없는 것 같은데.

Kate : Far from it. He's an expert on that. 당치도 않아. 그는 그 일에 대해서는 전문가야.
