* work your fingers to the bone = (informal) to work very hard
* keep your nose to the grindstone = (informal) to work very hard, without stopping to rest

* on for the road = (spoken) a last slcoholic drink before you leave a party
Tim : Hey! Let's have a toast to my beautiful wife! 야! 우리 아름다운 아내를 위해 건배!
Kate : I'll drink to that! 그런 건배라면 마셔야지.
Tim : Happy anniversary, dear. I hope you had a wonderful evening.
결혼 기념일 축하해, 자기. 오늘 저녁 즐거웠으면 좋겠어.
Kate : It was great, but it's not nearly over yet. 정말 멋졌어. 근데 아직 끝난 건 아니잖아.
Tim : Okay! Let's have one more for the road and then head home.
좋아! 딱 한 잔만 더하고 가자.
Kate : Great idea. 좋은 생각이야.
* 술에 관련하여 [숙취]는 hangover, [해장술]은 hair of the dog 라고 합니다...

파티의 주인이 이런 제안을 했을 때는 주인의 친절한 인사라고 볼 수도 있으나 거꾸로 생각하면 이제 그만 돌아가라는 의미로 들릴 수 있다는 점에 주의해야한다...

* have a way with 는 [...에 일가견이 있다]는 의미로 be pretty good at 과 같은 표현...
* know one's way around 는 [...에 대해 정통하다]라는 의미...
* have a way with = (spoken) to have a special ability to do something
* have your way around = to be familiar with a place, system, or organization
Kate : Are you any good at troubleshooting computer? 컴퓨터를 잘 고치니?
Ross : Not particularly. If you've got a problem, you should ask Tim.
별로 그렇지 않은데. 문제가 있으면 팀한테 부탁해봐.
He really knows what he's doing. 팀은 그 분야에 정통하고 있으니까.

* Don't bother 는 [일부러 수고하지 않아도 된다]는 뜻으로 상대방이 베풀어주는 제안이나 수고에 대해 가볍게 거절하는 표현...

난 문제가 생길 때마다 팀에게 전화로 상의를 해.
Ross : He seems to be born with a special talent for problem-solving.
팀은 문제 해결에 일가견이 있잖아.
Could you wrap these up?
* wrap up = to completely cover something by folding paper, cloth etc around it
* gift-wrap = to wrap a present with attractive colored paper
Kate : May I have a closer look at pair of earrings? 귀거리 좀 더 가까이 볼 수 있나요?
Jeweler : Here you go. They are gorgeous, aren't they? 여기 있습니다. 매우 멋지지 않나요?
Kate : They sure are. I guess I'll take them. Could you wrap these up, please?
