Some say love,  it is a river  that drowns the tender reed. Some say love,  it is a razor  that leaves your soul to bleed.  Some say love,  it is a hunger,  an endless aching need.  I say love,  it is a flower,  and you it's only seed.  It's the heart,  afraid of breaking,  that never learns to dance. It's the dream,  afraid of waking,  that never takes a chance. It's the one who won't be taken,  who cannot seem to give. And the soul, afraid of dyin',  that never learns to live.  When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,  And you think that love is only  for the lucky and the strong,  Just remember in the winter  far beneath the bitter snows,  Lies the seed,  that with the sun's love,  in the spring becomes The Rose.		어떤 사람들은  사랑은 연약한 갈대를 꺽어버리는 강물과 같다고 하고, 어떤 사람들은  영혼을 피흘리도록 내버려두는 면도날 같다고 하죠. 또 어떤이들은  사랑은 끊임없이 고통스러운  부족감을 느끼는 배고픔이라 하죠 하지만 난 사랑을  꽃이라 하겠어요. 그리고 당신은 사랑을  단지 씨앗이라고 하는군요. 춤을 배우지 못하는건 상처입는걸 두려워하기 때문이고 과감히 행동하지 못하는건 꿈에서 깨어나기 싫기 때문이죠. (사랑을) 베풀지 않으면, 받을 수도 없고, 죽는걸 두려워하면  사는법도 배울수가 없지요. 밤이 너무 외롭고, 갈길은 너무 멀어서, 사랑은 단지 운좋은 사람이나 강한자의 것이라고 생각한다면, 한겨울 차가운 눈아래 땅속 깊이 묻혀 있는  씨앗을 생각해 봐요. 그 씨앗은 봄이 되면, 따스한 햇살의 사랑으로 장미로 피어납니다.
